Cookies and pixel tags
S&C receives and stores information from your browser while you use S&C websites and may use various methods to collect this information, including cookies and pixel tags.
What are cookies and pixel tags?
Cookies are small pieces of data sent by a website and stored by the web browser while you browse. HTTP cookies may be stored only for the duration of a visit (session cookies) or retained by the browser for a specified period after the session (persistent cookies). Cookies work together with website content to collect and remember information. Cookies cannot carry viruses or install malicious software.
Cookies placed by the domain of the website you are visiting, shown in the address bar, are called first-party cookies. They are commonly used to remember who you are as you move between pages or return to the website later. Such cookies can be read only by the domain that placed them. Cookies placed by a domain other than the one shown in the address bar are called third-party cookies. Third-party cookies may be used to track users across different services, for example to personalize advertising content.
A pixel tag is a graphic image, often transparent and usually no larger than one pixel, placed on a website or in an email and used to monitor the behavior of users visiting a website or sending an email. Websites may use such web beacons for many purposes, including usage analytics, advertising, audits and reporting, and personalization of content and ads. Other names include web beacon and clear GIF.
How do we use cookies and pixel tags?
We use cookies and pixel tags to track, only in aggregate form, how our customers use skillandchill.com and to understand their preferences, for example category and language choices. This enables us to provide better services and website experiences. We also use cookies and pixel tags to collect aggregate data on website traffic and interactions, identify trends and obtain statistics so that we can offer better website features and tools in the future. We may engage third parties to help us collect data, but those third parties may use the information only to assist S&C in operating and improving its business. In general, cookies on skillandchill.com fall into three categories:
Strictly necessary — these cookies are always enabled because they are required for the website to function. They include cookies that allow the website to remember you during a single browsing session or, if you choose, between sessions. They help provide a smooth browsing experience and support security and compliance.
Functionality and performance — these analytics cookies help us improve the website by anonymously tracking how it is used. They can also help us identify S&C products that may be relevant to you. In some cases, these cookies improve the speed of processing your requests, remember website settings you have selected and help connect you with social networks. Disabling them may result in less relevant recommendations, slower website performance and reduced ability to share content through services such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter and other social networks.
Advertising — these cookies collect information that helps us better tailor advertising content to your interests, both on and outside S&C websites. The data collected is anonymous and is not linked to personal data you have provided to S&C. Disabling these cookies may result in advertising that is less relevant to your needs.
How can I change my cookie settings?
You can configure your browser to warn you whenever a cookie is being sent or to disable all cookies. These options are available in your browser settings. Because browsers differ, please consult your browser's Help menu for instructions on changing cookie settings. If you disable cookies, you may lose access to features that improve the website experience and some services may not function properly. We also work with companies that use advertising-tracking technologies on our behalf across the internet. These companies may collect non-personally identifiable information about your visits to our website and your interactions with our communications, including advertisements.
Unsubscribing, deleting or modifying your data
You have the right to withdraw any consent you have given us to use your personal data. You also have the right to access, modify or delete your data, including where the data we hold is inaccurate or otherwise unlawful. To change your email or SMS subscription or unsubscribe completely from S&C notifications, update your preferences in the “view or change my profile” section of skillandchill.com. Please note that due to email generation schedules, you may still receive messages that were already being prepared.
To remove all information concerning your S&C online account from our database, go to the “view or change my profile” section on skillandchill.com and select “delete my profile”. Please note that if you request deletion of account information from our database, we may retain certain information for archival purposes.
Data protection
We use a range of safeguards, including advanced encryption and authentication tools, to protect your personal data. Your personal data is stored in secured network systems and is accessible only to a limited number of people who have been granted special access rights and are required to keep the data confidential. Information you provide is transmitted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted in databases to which access is restricted as described above.
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will publish the revised policy on skillandchill.com and sandc.pl. Please check regularly for updates to our privacy policy. The last modification was made in August 2014.
Use of the SKILL & CHILL brand — general information
Although we would like to accommodate every request from users who want to add a touch of SKILL & CHILL to their websites, we strongly protect our reputation as an objective and trustworthy provider of IT services and more. This means that we must reject many requests where a website suggests that it is endorsed by, affiliated with or otherwise connected to SKILL & CHILL. The same applies when SKILL & CHILL trademarks, logos, websites, screenshots or other distinctive features (“SKILL & CHILL Brand Features” or “Brand Features”) are associated with material that SKILL & CHILL considers objectionable.
For this reason, before using any SKILL & CHILL Brand Features, you must obtain express written permission from SKILL & CHILL. Use of Brand Features must comply with these guidelines and the specific purposes covered by the permission granted by SKILL & CHILL. If you have a written agreement with SKILL & CHILL that specifically defines permitted use of the Brand Features, the approval process described here is not required unless you intend to do something not covered by that agreement. Otherwise, use of the Brand Features without prior written permission is allowed only where the website contains a clear and understandable statement that such features may be used without prior permission.
When using Brand Features, you must always follow the proper-use rules contained in these guidelines. SKILL & CHILL may also provide written requirements concerning the size, typeface, colors and other graphic parameters of the SKILL & CHILL trademark. If these requirements are provided when permission is granted, you must comply with them before using the Brand Features. If they are provided after permission has been granted, you must comply within a commercially reasonable period.
Permission process
To request permission, complete the form and send it to us together with the information requested in the form, including the reason you wish to use, for example, the SKILL & CHILL trademark. We will try to respond within 10 business days, although we cannot guarantee this, and you may not use SKILL & CHILL Brand Features until express permission has been granted.
Permission to use SKILL & CHILL Brand Features is limited to the information provided in the application. If the intended use changes, either before or after SKILL & CHILL grants permission, the application must be updated accordingly.
Please remember that we can grant permission only for the use of SKILL & CHILL Brand Features. We cannot grant permission for brand features owned by third parties.
Trademark use — what is a trademark?
A trademark is a word, name, symbol or design, or a combination of these, that identifies the goods or services of a particular person or company and distinguishes them from those of others. A trademark gives customers confidence in the consistent quality of those goods or services and helps promote them.
Why is proper trademark use important?
Trademark rights may continue indefinitely as long as the owner continues using the mark to identify goods and services. Improper use of trademarks can lead to loss of those rights and the complete loss of value in one of a company's most important assets. Rights may be lost through improper trademark use not only by the owner but also by independent third parties.
Rules for using the SKILL & CHILL logo
What you should do:
- If you use a SKILL & CHILL trademark, distinguish it from the surrounding text, for example by writing the entire mark in uppercase, using italics or placing it in quotation marks.
- Use a generic term before the trademark, for example: SKILL & CHILL website, SKILL & CHILL design, SKILL & CHILL mobile application.
- Use only graphic materials approved by SKILL & CHILL as the SKILL & CHILL logo.
- If the SKILL & CHILL logo is used on a website, maintain at least 25 pixels of clear space between every side of the logo and other graphic or text elements.
- An unregistered SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature should generally be followed by superscript TM or SM to indicate that the company claims trademark rights in the term. A registered SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature should be followed by the ® symbol to identify it as a registered trademark. In advertising materials, a trademark notice may be placed in the footer, for example by adding an asterisk next to the SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature and placing the corresponding notice at the bottom of the page. Example: *SKILL & CHILL is a trademark of SKILL AND CHILL SP. z o.o.
What you must not do:
- Users must not alter the marks. Only SKILL & CHILL may do so. Do not remove, distort or modify any element of a SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature. This also includes modifying the SKILL & CHILL trademark, for example by hyphenating it, combining it with another element or shortening it. Do not abbreviate SKILL & CHILL trademarks or create acronyms from them.
- Do not display a SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature as the most prominent element on a website.
- Do not display a SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature in a way that suggests affiliation with, sponsorship by or endorsement from SKILL & CHILL, or in a way that could lead users to believe that website content was created by SKILL & CHILL or its employees or represents their views or opinions.
- Do not display a SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature on any website that contains or displays adult content, promotes gambling, involves the sale of tobacco or alcohol to persons under 21, or otherwise violates applicable law.
- Do not display a SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature in a manner that, in SKILL & CHILL's sole judgment, is deceptive, unfair, defamatory, unlawful, disparaging, obscene or otherwise objectionable.
- Do not display a SKILL & CHILL Brand Feature on a website that violates any law or regulation.
- Do not frame or mirror SKILL & CHILL pages, including pages displayed after clicking the SKILL & CHILL logo.
- Do not incorporate SKILL & CHILL Brand Features into your own product names, service names, trademarks, logos or company names.
- Do not copy or imitate the SKILL & CHILL trade dress, including the appearance and themes of SKILL & CHILL web or brand elements, distinctive color combinations, typography, graphic patterns, product icons or images associated with SKILL & CHILL.
- Do not use your own marks, logos, slogans or designs that are confusingly similar to SKILL & CHILL Brand Features.
- Do not register SKILL & CHILL trademarks as second-level domain names.
- Do not use SKILL & CHILL trademarks in a way that suggests a generic, descriptive or common meaning.
- Trademark rights vary by country. In some countries, civil and criminal law imposes severe penalties for misuse of the registration symbol. Therefore, the registration symbol (®) should not be used in countries where the mark has not been registered.
If you have questions about the use of SKILL & CHILL Brand Features, requests for clarification or permission may be submitted through the generally available form indicated in the source policy.
