Hi!
Welcome to our blog :) Today we'll take a look at recruitment for the talented and agile SKILL & CHILL team.
Want to send us your CV? Here's how our recruitment process works.
We are currently looking for candidates for six positions:
⭐️ Web Developer, ⭐️ Android Developer, ⭐️ iOS Developer, ⭐️ Java Front-End Developer, ⭐️ Java Full-Stack Developer, ⭐️ JavaScript Developer.
At SKILL & CHILL, the first recruitment step is reviewing the CVs we receive. Our openings always attract a lot of interest — every time we have a stack of interesting applications to go through ;)
So how do we select candidates?
A CV alone is not the deciding factor. Sometimes the greatest talent is hidden behind a very ordinary résumé. We would love to interview everyone who applies, but there are simply too many applications and too little time, so selection is necessary. We pay particular attention to the number and quality of projects a candidate has completed. University education is not everything; for us, it matters more whether someone genuinely enjoys what they do. Often you can see that in the hours they have invested in learning programming.
We appreciate people who put real effort into their development. Every new person at SKILL & CHILL can count on support from more experienced colleagues, but a desire to learn and the initiative to discover new technical tricks independently are major advantages 💪
What comes next? A phone call with selected candidates. During the initial conversation we ask about preferred working hours and agree on a convenient time for the formal recruitment interview.
And then the fun begins. Each candidate goes through three stages of recruitment. Our process is 100% remote: we use Google tools and conduct interviews through Meet. Every stage helps us assess the candidate's skills and commitment.
Stage I
The first stage is an interview with a series of questions that help us understand the candidate. We ask about experience, professional expectations and aspirations. We want to know why the person applied to SKILL & CHILL, what inspired them to start programming and why they chose this career path.
After hearing the candidate's answers, we talk about the company: SKILL & CHILL, our projects and our organizational culture. We explain what a normal working day looks like and what challenges the role involves.
Then the candidate has time to ask questions.
The conversation ends with a mutual decision about moving to the next stage. If both sides are positive, we invite the candidate to complete a course that forms stage two.
Stage II
Time for the course!
The second stage is a course on the OutSystems platform. The candidate completes free training in low-code development. This stage usually takes up to a week — and of course we do not mean eight hours a day for seven days. We take the candidate's other commitments into account, including current employment, family matters and university exams.
The knowledge acquired during the training will be needed in stage three and later in day-to-day work at SKILL & CHILL.
After completing all lessons, the candidate contacts us and we arrange a technical interview — stage three.
What if the candidate does not understand everything covered by the course? They can count on our help :)
Throughout recruitment, we remind candidates that we are available. If questions come up, we can arrange an additional meeting and explain unclear topics so the candidate can understand the material as well as possible.
Stage III
Now it is time for the final stage: the technical interview.
During the technical interview, candidates answer questions related to the course and to logical thinking. The questions vary depending on the role, and the course content is also tailored to the position. Candidates complete only the blocks that will actually be useful in their future work.
Based on the answers, we make an employment decision. If both sides are positive, we begin working together.
The recruitment process is over — what next?
At SKILL & CHILL we place great importance on a friendly organizational culture. One of our unwritten rules is to take care of new employees. We do not expect new team members to be fully independent from day one, and we are not fans of handing out tasks and leaving people to struggle alone.
We help one another and believe this model of cooperation allows everyone to develop technical skills and gain new experience 💪
Joining SKILL & CHILL is an opportunity to develop your passion and skills and to broaden your horizons in the world of low-code development.
